Baccalaureate & Commencement
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Members of the Class of 2020,
Finally, Good News! On the morning of Tuesday, May 26, we received an update from the Office of the Governor of New Jersey announcing that in-person graduation ceremonies that adhere to social distancing and specified regulations can be conducted statewide starting July 6, 2020. Governor Murphy indicated that we can move forward with the planning as long as public health data continues to reflect that the spread of the virus across the state is abating.
I am very pleased to tell you that on Thursday morning, July 9, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. we are planning to celebrate the Class of 2020 with our Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Exercises. Details are forthcoming and will be shared on this page upon finalization. Our commencement traditions mean so much to our graduates, their families, the alumni as well as to our faculty and staff. This announcement is truly a blessed moment in the history of our school.
Please know that our efforts over the past several weeks were in light of the school’s Augustinian mission to keep the community safe. The patience, kindness, constructive feedback, and resilience of all helped us move through the challenges together. I am grateful.
The Class of 2020 will emerge from these unique moments stronger and more focused on our core values of Veritas, Unitas, and Caritas and for having shouldered the weight of this time. That will be one of their many gifts. We are so very proud of you!
Fr. Robert J. Murray, OSA
