Prep Runs Broad Street: Setting Hearts on Fire with a Passionate Search for Truth, Unity, Love, and the Finish Line!
On Sunday, May 3rd, six Prep students and staff members participated in the 2015 Blue Cross Broad Street Run, the largest 10-mile race in the United States. The race began on North Broad Street near Central High School, and runners crossed the finish line inside the Philadelphia Naval Yard at the southern end of Broad Street.
Brothers Justin and Brendan Wright, Assistant Athletic Director Tom Broomell, School Nurse Darlene Kingett, Database Coordinator/Social Media Director Anna Broomell, and Administrative Assistant to the President’s Office Donna Field were part of the group of 40,000 runners who made their way down Broad Street at this year’s event.
“It was pretty long but really enjoyable. I would definitely do it again,” said Justin Wright, a rising sophomore.
“This is my second time running Broad Street. It is the most fun I have had running ten miles,” said Branden Wright, Prep alumni and member of the recently graduated Class of 2015. “The atmosphere is incredible; there is nothing like Broad Street!”
