Posted July 16th, 2015

U.S. Lacrosse, the national governing body of both men and women’s lacrosse in the United States, recently honored two Prep alums at a gathering of all southern New Jersey Head Coaches. Nick DeCaprio, who currently plays Long Stick Middle at the University of Michigan, was recognized as an All-American for his talents on the field. He was a Gill Gibbs Senior All-Star Game participant and made 1st Team All Non-Public A.

Ernie Alvino was also recognized at the meeting, selected as an Academic All-American, for his combined academic and athletic achievements. A Gill Gibbs Senior All-Star Game participant as well, he was selected to join the 2nd Team All Non-Public A. Ernie is the goalie for the Air Force Academy’s lacrosse team.
This recognition is given to those high school senior players who exhibit not only exemplary lacrosse skills, but also good sportsmanship, and safe play, among other criteria.

Congratulations Nick and Ernie! We wish you continued success in both your athletic and academic careers!
