Young ’20 tabbed as Director of International Conference
Servant leadership is a term heard quite often at St. Augustine. This is no surprise as the school continues to work toward nurturing agents of change in a society yearning for leadership. For young alumnus Sajan Young ’20, this is a message that resonated with him during his early years at the Prep. Ultimately resulting in his selection to serve as Student Body President during his senior year, Sajan’s academic, athletic, and social reputation made him the perfect fit for the job. Fast forward to the present day and the Public Policy and International Affairs student at Princeton University has continued to excel in every way imaginable. His diligence, intellect, and empathetic nature have served him well in an Ivy League setting as he was selected as Director of the 48th installment of the 2022 International Conference sponsored by Business Today.
Business Today was founded by Steve Forbes in 1968. The undergraduate-focused business organization has “bridged the gap between influential business leaders from all industries and top undergraduate students from around the world.” For the past 48 years, they have attracted top undergraduate students from around the world to participate in the International Conference. This unique opportunity exposes attendees to diverse viewpoints – not only from many industries and companies – but also from students of different countries, universities, and backgrounds. The conference has connected influential business executives with top undergraduate students with the goal of developing the next generation of leaders – a concept that Sajan Young was accustomed to during his four years at St. Augustine Prep. Sajan’s resume in this space was already impressive as he served as a staffer during previous International Conferences and was also a part of the Boost Conference, another Business Today-sponsored initiative.
Sajan proudly shared with the Prep:
As a St. Augustine Prep Hermit and as the president of the Class of 2020, I cherished being part of a community that constantly teaches its sons how to educate and lead others. One of the greatest values of the Prep was shown through my conference theme, “Community Through Business”. The Prep certainly influenced my decision to use this theme as the Prep teaches its students to be trendsetters in their community by stressing an adaptation of that same ideology: “Community Through Brotherhood”.
The Brotherhood is proud of Sajan’s accomplishments and appreciative of his continuing to live the Augustinian mission of his beloved alma mater!

Sajan’s achievements, diligence, and determination in his post-Richland journey are a strong example of life as a Hermit Brother entering a new chapter as an alumnus. The school is blessed to have many alumni who continue to represent the Prep with the same pride and vigor they held as students. He is part of a list of distinguished Hermits Alumni who have earned distinctions in academics, military service, education, athletics, medicine, business, and a variety of industries. Do you know a young man who is ready to become a “Man of Character” and follow in Sajan’s footsteps by attending the premier all-boys high school in New Jersey?
