School Bus Driver (Seasonal)

St. Augustine Preparatory School, an independent 8 – 12 all-boys school located in Richland, NJ, seeks an experienced Bus Driver.

Requirements/Minimum Qualifications: 

• A minimum of a Class B commercial driver’s license
• Must have (P) passenger and (S) school bus endorsements
• Pass a background check and fingerprint requirements
• Must exhibit an ability to manage students in this type of environment
• Must possess a disposition appropriate for interacting with students
• Display the highest level of ethical and professional behavior and standards
• 3+ years experience preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  

• Understand the mission of the school and promote the Augustinian values of VERITAS (Truth), UNITAS (Unity), and CARITAS (Love)
• Support for the school’s Diversity, Equity Inclusion, and Belonging Initiative
• Being attentive to traffic and weather conditions and ensuring passenger safety
• Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops
• Regularly checking vehicle safety such as tires, brakes, turn signals and mechanical equipment
• Transport children and other passengers to and from school
• Obey all traffic laws to ensure students arrive to their destination safely
• Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times
• Ensure the safety of all students when entering and leaving the bus
• Assist students with getting on and off the bus as needed
• Engage with students as they enter and leave the bus
