Freshman Experience

Hermit Fest – Angelo Gurcsik, Class of 2018

Posted January 26th, 2015

At Hermit Fest there were plenty of fun and exciting activities we could participate in. I found myself going from one activity to another before the football game even started. Not only did the school offer things to do before the game, but the students created activities too. For example, when I first entered the recreational area where the band and Thunder-Dome were located, I found myself playing a pick-up football game with all of my friends. An activity that I offered for other students was face painting. Before the game, I had my grandma purchase blue and white face paint so that my friends and I could show some school spirit. We painted the letters P-R-E-P on our chests and even painted our faces white and blue.

Even though we did lots of things on our own, the school provided us with plenty of entertainment. I was a little hesitant to enter the Thunder-Done at first, but once I saw how much fun it was, I couldn’t resist. My friends and I were jumping, pushing, throwing, and flying around the dome. After the Thunder-Dome, I found myself hungry and thirsty, so I headed over to the concessions where I could enjoy the music that the Rock Club provided while I talked to friends and enjoyed my burger. I also had the opportunity to play real life foosball, but unfortunately, it was too late and the game was about to start. For sure, the human foosball is a must for next year’s Hermit Fest. For me, it was an event I will remember my entire life.
