On November 19th each of the 11 St. Augustine Prep students who participated in the South Jersey Region Choir audition were named to the ensemble. Of the 500 plus students who auditioned only 195 were selected for the honor. The performance of the SJ Region Choir will take place at Eastern Regional High School on January 28th and 29th at 8:00 pm and 3:00 pm respectively. A year ago the Prep landed six individuals within the region choir.
Congratulations to Matthew Balestriere, Kyle Griffiths, John Kosylo, Joey LaScala, Nick Mahon, Brandon Nailor, Nick Pilny, Matthew Pond, Eric Richwine, Adam Snyder, Robert Cuff on their accomplishment.
Fine Arts Department Chair Matthew Wolf noted “I couldn’t be happier or more proud of the result of the SJ Region Choir auditions. The hard work and dedication of these our students became apparent in the outstanding result from last weekend’s auditions. These 11 students will now come together with students from all across South Jersey to create the South Jersey Region Chorus.”
In addition, senior Matthew Balestriere was accepted into the All-Eastern Mixed Choir. Balestriere was chosen after a nearly six-month process that included a fourth place finish at the All-State Chorus.
Witness some of the talent Sunday, December 4th at St. Augustine Prep’s Celebration of the Arts. The event will take place at 3:00 p.m. in Rodio Gymnasium.
