12 Prep Students Excel on National Latin Exam

On March 15, 2012, sixty-three St. Augustine Prep students took National Latin exams for Latin II and III. Of these, twelve students recently were awarded honors for their exceptional performance on the tests.  Those honored in Latin II are:  John Winans, Angelo d’Antonio-Bertagnoli, and Nicholas Brown—Silver Maxima cum Laude; Trevor Golden, Justin Wright, and Phillip Hooper—Magna cum Laude; Jeffrey Hupf, Michael Henry, Tristan Smith, and Gregory Burns—Cum Laude.  Honors in Latin III went to: Daniel Stinson—Silver Maxima cum Laude; and Cody Dazen—Cum Laude.

The National Latin Exam is given annually by the American Classical League and the National Junior Classical League.  This year, over 148,000 students from all 50 states and 13 foreign countries took the test.
