Students Participate in Service Trip to Peru
Posted July 12th, 2015
Students in the Peru Third Semester class had the chance to visit the beautiful lands and sites of the country, but not before spending time working hard constructing small buildings in Villa El Salvador, on the outskirts of Lima. They even spent helped to build a sustainable garden, paid for by the students, which contained herbs, carrots, tomatoes, citrus, apple, lemons, limes, flowers, and even cacti. After three days of work that strengthened not only the body but the mind and spirit, the students explored the town of Cusco for two days, where they spent time shopping, and enjoyed a dinner before an evening of group reflection and prayer. No trip to Peru would be complete without a day in Macchu Picchu, where they experienced the 1450 Inca built grounds, one of the seven wonders of the world. Below, view a compilation of photos from students and faculty, and read the moving letters sent to the class by those they were there assisting. [easymedia-carousel med=”14981″]
