$2.8 Million in Merit Scholarships Awarded On College Interview Day

Posted October 11th, 2016

The fourth annual College Interview Day held on October 6th was a resounding success. Seventeen colleges participated, 10 of which offered instant admissions decisions. For the 108 Prep students who participated in the program, it resulted in over 260 college interviews and 79 offers of admission.  While not all of the instant decision colleges provided “on the spot” merit awards as done in past years, over $2.8 million in merit scholarships were allocated immediately. Additional award notifications will be mailed to the students in the weeks to come.

“Interview Day means more than just an opportunity for students to talk to participating colleges” said Mrs. Carol Castelli, Director of College Guidance. “This is one of my favorite days of the year.  To have so many students receive offers of admissions this early in the college application process is a testament to their hard work and commitment to furthering their education.   The college counselors made a point to tell us how impressed they were with our students’ interviewing skills, academic achievements and commitment to service”

Participating schools included: Villanova University, Arcadia University, Catholic University of America, Drexel University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Florida Southern College, Merrimack College, Moravian College, Neumann University, Philadelphia University, Rider University, Seton Hall University, Saint Joseph’s University, Stockton University, University of Tampa, Ursinus College, and Widener University.
