Alex Brescia ’17 Earns Gold Congressional Award Medal

Posted September 2nd, 2016

Senior, Alex Brescia, recently earned a Gold Congressional Award Medal.  This accomplishment was no easy task as Alex spent the past three summers working toward this goal.  To earn his medal, Alex completed over 400 hours of volunteer work, 200 hours of personal development and over 1,000 hours of physical fitness over the span of three years.  In addition, Alex completed a two-day expedition for his bronze medal, three for the silver and five for the gold.

Alex and his family enjoyed the medal ceremony which took place at the Regan House in Washington, DC.  There, Congressman LoBiondo presented Alex with his gold medal.  Joining Congressman LoBiondo at the ceremony were actresses Linda Carter, America Fierra and Baseball Hall of Famer, Cal Ripken.

Pictured with Alex is Anthony Olivio ’19 who is currently working toward a Silver Congressional Award Medal.  Good luck Anthony!

Congratulations Alex!
