Big Brother Program Year End Party

Posted May 3rd, 2015

Another successful and fulfilling Big Brothers program came to a close as Bigs and Littles celebrated with an end of the year party. During the event, the Littles said goodbye to their Bigs, especially those Littles who had graduating seniors as their mentor. In a heart-touching moment, one Little asked a senior, ?Can you not graduate so I can see you again next year?? We are proud to be part of such an important program and look forward to participating again next year, a tradition since 2002.  The program is part of the National Big Brother/Big Sister Organization that involves juniors and seniors who have at least an 85 average or above. The Atlantic/Cape May County Big Brother Representative interviews eligible students in September in order to match the personalities of the Bigs and Littles. Once a week, either the junior Bigs or the senior Bigs travel to Folsom Elementary School to spend time with their Little. The boys play board games, sports, read, do homework, or just talk each week. There have been Prep Alumni that continue to participate in the program while attending college. There are also Bigs and Littles that stay in contact with each other after the high school program has ended. See photos from the party below.
