Prep Talk
Caritas Project to Benefit Cancer Victims
Posted August 7th, 2012
Prep student Frank Scavelli (Class of 2013) and Salon Leezae are holding a cut-a-thon on Sunday, August 12, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon and on Monday, August 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM to benefit Pantene Beautiful Lengths, a charity campaign created by Pantene in partnership with the American Cancer Society that encourages people to grow, cut, and donate their healthy hair to create real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.
Nearly 775,000 American women will be diagnosed with cancer in 2012, and one in three women will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime. Hair loss, one of the most common side effects of cancer treatment, can be especially traumatic for women fighting cancer.
Donatable hair must be a minimum of 8 inches long and not be bleached or dyed. A free straight cut will be provided by stylists donating their time. Come out on August 12 and 13 for a good cause!
Salon Leezae is located at 2205 Delsea Drive, Franklinville, NJ. If you have any questions, please contact Frank at scavelli.frank@hermits.org.
