Class of 2020 Enjoys First Week As Hermits!
Posted September 8th, 2016
Last week held many “firsts” for our newly-minted freshman class. The festivities began with the Class of 2020 receiving a 2-day/1-night stay at their new “home” for the next four years. The innovative 2-day orientation presented the students with an opportunity to interact with the faculty, acclimate themselves to new surroundings, and most importantly bond with their new Hermit Brothers.
In addition to the slew of activities and team-building exercises, the young men received words of wisdom from various faculty members including Dean of Enrollment Management, Mr. Stephen Cappuccio (SA ’96) and School President, Fr. Reilly. Our Christian Gentlemen were also blessed with a visit by Fr. Tom McCarthy, O.S.A. – Augustinian Friar and Vocation Director for Provinces of Our Mother of Good Counsel (Midwest) and St. Thomas of Villanova (East). The memorable first week culminated with an official welcome from the Prep community during the annual Brotherhood Ceremony. As a bonus, our newest Hermits made their first appearance on the athletic field and in the stands as the Richland Rowdies and the varsity football team came out victorious versus Malvern Prep – our Augustinian Brothers from Pennsylvania.
Good luck to all of our freshmen and thank you to our upperclassmen for their leadership throughout the week and beyond!
