Class of 2022 Becomes Newest Hermit Alumni Class

The Class of 2022 was celebrated and recognized in the 60th Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 19, 2022. On a sunny day in the same field where they started their journey at the Prep for their orientation, one hundred and sixty-three Hermits became the newest addition to the distinguished distinction of Hermit Alumni.
During their past four years, these 163 members for the Class of 2022 have contributed and achieved excellence in the academics, athletics, and service to others. They have learned the Augustinian Values of Truth, Unity, and Love. They stared adversity in the face and persevered – TOGETHER, to forge life-long memories. It is now time for these young men to live the mission.
The Class of 1972 was on hand to celebrate their 50th Anniversary of Commencement and receive their Golden Diplomas. In 1959, the first class of St. Augustine Prep students began their high school studies in what we today call the Allegrini Monastery. The unique experience and traditions here at St. Augustine Prep and the strength of the Brotherhood the Class of 2022 has enjoyed, were established by our Hermit Brothers who graduated before them. The Class of 1972 only had 28 members in its graduating class – we have clearly come a long way in a short period.
The Class of 2022 have honored us with their many gifts and talents over the past four years. Some of the Outstanding Achievements of the Class of 2022 include:

- 8 Individual All – State Athletic Selections
- 22 Individual All – South Jersey Athletic Selections
- 28 First Team Cape Atlantic League Conference All-Stars
- 1 Individual All – South Jersey Chorus Selection
- $56.8 Million awarded in College Scholarships and Grants over four years!
