Coach Rodio Captures 800th Win
Posted February 21st, 2014
With the St. Augustine Prep Basketball Team’s victory over Lower Cape May Regional High School on February 18, Coach Paul Rodio achieved the 800th win of his 37-year basketball coaching career at the Prep. Coach Rodio is only the third person in New Jersey high school boys’ basketball history to reach this milestone.
A 1970 graduate of the Prep, Paul Rodio became head coach of the Hermits in 1977. During his tenure, the Prep has won four state champions and numerous Cape Atlantic League and South Jersey titles. With the historic win, Coach Rodio’s career record stood at 800-221. He is the winningest basketball coach in South Jersey history. His career is far from over, however, as the Hermits enter the CAL play-offs next week (first round is on Monday, February 24, at 6:00 p.m. in the aptly named Rodio Gym, against Mainland Regional High School) and the State play-offs begin on March 7 at home.

Congratulations, Coach Rodio, and best of luck in the upcoming play-offs!
