Posted April 27th, 2016

Dan Laskowski ’16 has received a National Security Language Initiative (NSLI-Y) Arabic Scholarship for the 2016-2017 school year.  NSLI-Y scholarships are sponsored by the U.S. Department of State as part of a U.S. government initiative that prepares American citizens to be leaders in a global world.  Dan’s program will take place in Marrakesh, Morocco from September 2016 until May 2017.  He will have an ongoing host family experience to reinforce his Arabic language skills, and will be immersed in the local culture.  Dan will also experience numerous community service opportunities such as peer-to-peer tutors, TESL tutors for Arabic children and participate in events coordinated with the Peace Corps.

Good luck and safe travels Dan!  Hermit Pride!
