Dmitry Selin ’19: Master Game Programmer!

Posted November 1st, 2016

In Mr. Griffiths’ Computer Science class, Dmitry Selin took an assignment and turned it into much more!  In advance of our Halloween guests, 28 little ghosts and goblins from Holy Name Elementary School in Camden, Mr. Griffiths’ class decided to create a game.  The programming language used was Raptor, developed by the Navy and maintained by Martin Carlisle, professor at Carnegie Mellon University.

Mr. Griffiths shared that “Dmitry decided to take my assignment and turn it into much more than the normal assignment.  Within six hours, he developed a ‘Role Playing Program’ that is fun to play and utilizes all the main fundamental aspects of programming.  I am always amazed by the abilities and capabilities of our students.”  Way to go Dmitry!
