Environmental Club Cleans Padre Pio Shrine

On Thursday, April 18, 11 members of the Environmental Club, accompanied by moderator Mrs. Nancy McHugh traveled afterschool to the Padre Pio Shrine in Landisville as part of the Beautification Project.  Mrs.Marie D’Andrea, founder of the shrine, led the group in prayer and spoke about Padre Pio’s life and his devotion to God and the Blessed Mother.  She also recounted the history of the shrine.  She encouraged the boys to pray to Padre Pio in times of need – stress, illness,  social pressures, etc.  After weeding the numerous flower beds, bench areas, and gift shop landscaping, the boys were treated to refreshments by Mrs. D’Andrea.
