Fabietti Scholarship Foundation Holds Annual Golf Tournament

Posted September 11th, 2012

On Friday, September 7, the Tom Fabietti Scholarship Foundation held its 19th annual golf tournament at Blue heron Pines in Egg Harbor City, NJ.

The scholarship was established in memory of and as a tribute to Tom Fabietti, ‘86 who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 1994.

Tom felt strongly about the education provided him at the Prep.  He always said he wished more and more young men had the opportunity to attend.  With that in mind the foundation’s mission is to provide scholarships to young men aspiring to continue their education at the high school level at St. Augustine Prep.

The work of the foundation began slowly and has grown to significant proportions.  Since 1994, they have awarded over $785,000 in scholarships to 80 applicants.

This year’s group includes 19 recipients: BoDean Messier, Austin Neri, Vincent Silvanio, Alexander Hughes, Thomas Merighi, Matthew Spiers, William Reeves, Edward Donahue, Paul Bergamo, Kieran Hughes, Connor Morgado, Grant Schoenfeldt, Daniel Alvarez, Steven Alvarez, James Hammerstedt, Jr., Colin Donahue, Dante Enos, Christopher Spiers and Patrick Powers.
