Prep Talk
Faculty Member Fights Alzheimer’s
Posted September 4th, 2012
Dear St.Augustine Prep Community,
I hope you will help me in supporting the Alzheimer’s Association. On November 4, I will be running the NYC Marathon in memory of my grandmother Blanche, who died from Alzheimer’s, and my mother Pat who is now suffering from the same disease.
More Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s disease than prostate cancer and breast cancer combined. One out of eight people over 65, and one out of two over 85, have the disease. Over 15 million Americans provide unpaid care for a person with Alzheimer’s or other dementia.
Baby boomers are entering the age of greatest risk.Your contribution is greatly appreciated! Follow this link to visit my personal web page and help me in my efforts to support Alzheimer’s Association New York City Chapter.
