Fr. Horn Presented With Honorary Diploma
Posted May 20th, 2014
Our honoree began his formal association with St. Augustine Prep in 1995 when he was appointed to the Board of Directors. That relationship has grown and continues to manifest itself in many positive ways. His years of service in notable positions in the areas of education and administration have demonstrated a tremendous level of dedication. Through faith, experience, and compassion, he successfully helped the Prep balance the needs of each individual with those of the many in his role as a key administrator. He encouraged St. Augustine Prep to focus unquestionably on academic rigor, while fostering a balance of spirituality, service, fine arts, athletics, and extracurricular programs. Most importantly, he ensured that St. Augustine Prep remained committed to its Augustinian values of truth, unity, and love.
We teach our students at the Prep to be Christian Gentlemen. The recipient of this honorary diploma models those values and beliefs every day. He leads by example, demonstrates high standards and fairness, listens actively, and places the needs of others above his own. He created at the Prep a culture of mutual trust and caring and has the unique ability to channel strategic vision into concrete plans of action.
Fr. Reilly – It is an honor and privilege for me to present to you for the conferral of an honorary diploma from St. Augustine Preparatory, an educator who sets hearts on fire with a passionate search for truth, unity and love and the “Voice of the Hermits” – Fr. Francis Joseph Horn.
Delivered at Commencement Exercises for the Class of 2014 on Sunday, May 19, 2014, by Dr. James Devine, Executive Assistant to the President.
