Geometry Project Re-Creates Famous Structures

Posted March 13th, 2012

As part of the study of Similarity in Mrs. Diana Bertonazzi’s Honors Geometry Course, students were required to create a scale model project of a famous landmark or structure for which measurements are available.  The project could not be larger than 3 feet by 3 feet.  The student projects were graded on the levels of creativity and difficulty of the project.  The students were also required to turn in a written paper as a summary of their projects.  All calculations were to be included in the paper along with a description of how the project was constructed. Three outstanding examples are included in the photo.
