Prep Talk

To borrow a term from ice hockey, it was a hat-trick for the Egg Harbor Township’s Alder Avenue School at the 7th Annual Middle School Quiz Bowl last week.  Sponsored by St. Augustine Prep, and moderated by Dean of Enrollment Management Steve Cappuccio, this year’s event had a record number of participants. Special thanks to the over two dozen Prep students who helped with this event, especially student leaders Zachary Costanzo, Chase Bisagnaro, Gianni Finizio, Jared Hastings, John Sabella and Matthew Talbot. Hundreds of students, parents and team supporters attended the academic focused event at the school on October 22 watching and cheering on the 37 teams from 21 South Jersey middle schools.

Alder Avenue Team A (shown here) won with a total 59 out of a possible 85 points. Alder Team B and St. Margaret Regional School in Woodbury Heights tied for second place with 56 points and St. Mary’s from Williamstown was third with 54 points.
