Hermit Brotherhood’s Lego Toy Drive a Success

Posted May 22nd, 2021

Junior Mason Medolla organized the LEGO Toy drive that benefitted Teach for America and Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Through the Office of Campus Ministry, the LEGO toy drive accepted any type of LEGO – mismatched to complete sets!  They were not looking for new sets.

After two weeks, the Hermit Brotherhood had donated over 100 lbs of LEGOS.

The organizer of the LEGO Toy drive, Mason Medolla ’22, was inspired by having to clean out his room and wanting to donate his LEGO sets to students who would enjoy them. He knew that other Hermits would be in similar situations. He remembered a program that LEGO has called “LEGO Replay” and looked into spearheading the toy drive at St. Augustine Prep through the Office of Campus Ministry.

LEGO Replay is a way of helping LEGO fans donate bricks to kids in need through recycling LEGO pieces through the LEGO warehouse. The bricks that were collected will be sorted and cleaned before being donated.

Thank you to Mason and all the Hermits who donated!
