Jared Chiachetti ’16 was named to the 2016 Under Armour Underclass  Lacrosse team, who recently played a three-day round robin tournament against teams from Philadelphia, Washington D.C., New England, the South, and the West. Jared, a midfielder on the Hermits Lacrosse team, made the New Jersey team after trying out against over 300 other players in the area.

The Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Weekend is an annual event open to high school freshman all the way up to same-year graduated seniors, boys males and females. The event was held Friday, July 3rd through Sunday, July 5th at Towson University in Maryland. The round robin tournament is made up of 10 regional teams, coinciding with the Under Armour All-American Game, where selected graduated seniors play. It was aired live on July, 4th, on ESPN.

Jared, who has committed to the University of Maryland, is the third Hermit to make it to the weekend event. Two players, Steve Pontrello ’12 & Mike Sutton ’13, were both selected to play in the Under Armour All-American game.
New Jersey played a tough game and gave it their best, but ultimately lost to team Philadelphia, 9-7, in the finals.
