Posted October 17th, 2014
The St. Augustine Prep Surfing Team, under the direction of coach Kevin Morris, participated in the NJ State Championships on Sunday in Harvey Cedars. The Hermits qualified for the National Championships in the spring as they finished as the runner-up in the Northeast Region. Senior Perry Siganos (shown here) was the overall men’s champion for the second straight year. He was victorious despite a record breaking field of 178 surfers. Senior Jackson Baylinson finished second in the longboard division. Six Hermit surfers advanced to the third round when the filed was narrowed to the top 75.
Mr. Andy Lewis captured phenomenal photos of the event which can be found here.
