Human Trafficking Task Force Launches Awareness Campaign

Posted March 16th, 2012

The Human Trafficking Task Force, a student organization that was formed last year, has launched an awareness campaign aimed at informing the Prep community about the impact of lifestyle choices on international slavery. As a part of the campaign, the Task Force has asked several teachers and staff-members to complete an online survey that assesses the impact of their lifestyle choices (how many electronic devices they use, the amount of clothing they own, etc.). The results of these surveys have been displayed throughout the week in slideshows around campus. The effect is jarring. Each slide depicts the number of slaves that are “owned” by each faculty or administration member based on the extent to which slavery is involved in the industries that supply our lifestyle amenities.

You too can contribute to this awareness campaign by completing the online survey, which is available by clicking here.
