Math Club and Student Body Celebrate Pi Day
Posted March 18th, 2014
Every year on March 14, the Math Club leads the St. Augustine Prep community in celebration of Pi Day.
Pi Day festivities have become a tradition here at the Prep, with events that include a “digits of Pi” contest, in which students compete to see who can recite the most digits of Pi (this year’s winner, Bryce Russo [Class of 2014] recited 148 digits), a pie (pizza) eating contest (Max Lamcken and George Steffa won the pie eating contest on behalf of the Class of 2015), and the infamous lottery drawing to determine which students (one from each class) could throw a pie in the face of the faculty member of their choosing. Of course, the faculty are encouraged to return the favor. Click here to watch a video highlight of the pie throwing.
A special thanks to Math Club President, Joe Narcisso (Class of 2014), for facilitating the Pi Day events, and to his father for donating the pizzas for the pie-eating contest.
