Mentoring Group, Unitas, Assists Freshmen and Sophomores at the Prep
Posted February 17th, 2015
Our Unitas program, started in 2012, is designed to unite both freshmen students and faculty, including Fr. Reilly pictured here having lunch with his Unitas group, so that the former has a readily available point person for questions, needs, and concerns. This special relationship aims to strengthen the ties not only with teacher and student, but with the school and family as well. Each ad meets with the student on regularly scheduled days throughout the school year, in addition to one-on-one sessions.
In the students’ sophomore year, they continue to meet with their advisor, but also receive a college counselor to familiarize and assist them with the college application process. Unitas advisors will also work with the student to prepare college portfolios that will be utilized by the college counselor.
Through this innovative approach to assimilating students into the Prep Brotherhood and the through the support of their Unitas advisors, freshmen and sophomores easily transition into the rigors of the Prep educational environment.
