Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Falasca Announced as the Next Mendel Medal Recipients

The Mendel Medal, named after Gregor Mendel a 19th century Augustinian Monk, is the highest honor bestowed upon an individual within the St. Augustine Preparatory Community. Mr. & Mrs. Daniel Falasca have been announced as the 2017 recipients; the most recent over the forty three year history of the event.  The award ceremony and dinner will take place Thursday, November 16, 2017 on the campus of St. Augustine Prep.

 

Dan and Lisa have been active participants and ambassadors for the Keep Them In Blazers program since 2012.  Their investment and commitment to the transformational life and tuition assistance program has had significant impact on the lives of students.

 

Mr. Falasca serves as Chief Executive Officer and President at Falasca Mechanical, Inc. He is a member of the Economic Advisory Council at Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia while also holding the position of Vice President for the South Jersey Mechanical Contractors Association.

 

Dan also dedicates time to the community as he is the Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland and Salem Counties and serves on the U.A. Local 322 Plumber/Pipefitters Health, Welfare and Industry Fund Boards.

 

Lisa Falasca is a former member of the Board of Directors at St. Augustine Prep and has been actively involved in the school community, especially as a Prep mom during her son Dan’s ‘12 decorated Prep Experience as an accomplished scholar athlete and student leader. Her consistent volunteerism and work ethic helped advance many of the school’s events and programs.
Falasca Mechanical has been instrumental to the evolution of expansion at St. Augustine Prep over the past sixty years. The services and expertise provided have improved the physical plant and enhanced the learning environment. Mr. & Mrs. Falasca are the proud parents of Danny ‘12 and Morgan ‘14 (OLMA); they reside in E. Vineland and Longport.
