National Spanish Examination Award Recipients
Yesterday during our Moving Up Mass, the St. Augustine Prep community had the opportunity to celebrate a handful of outstanding performances on the National Spanish Examination. The National Spanish Examinations are the most widely used tests of Spanish in the United States and serves as a motivational contest to recognize student achievements in the study of Spanish and to stimulate further interest in the teaching and learning of Spanish.
Below is the list of students’ names who were recognized for their achievement in the National Spanish Examinations held in April. This exam assesses students’ comprehension abilities in listening, reading, and grammar.
National awards are determined by the total percentile as follows:
ORO (Gold)- Students scoring at or above the 95th percentile.
PLATA (Silver)- Students scoring from the 85th through the 94th percentiles
BRONCE (Bronze) – Students scoring from the 75th through the 84th percentiles
HONOR – Students scoring at or above the 50th percentile (national average) through the 74th
