Not Your Ordinary College Fair

On Wednesday, September 26, the College Guidance and Counseling Department at St. Augustine Prep held a college fair that was attended by representatives from over 80 colleges and universities from across the United States.

St. Augustine Prep students, and their parents, had the opportunity to browse the displays set up by each of the academic institutions, and to pick up literature on each school’s profiles, programs, and admissions requirements. Most importantly, however, the college fair provided an opportunity for each of the attending students to meet and speak with a representative from the schools of their choice.

Representatives attended the fair from Villanova University, Notre Dame, Bucknell, Merrimack College, and others. Before the students and their families entered the gym, the College Guidance and Counseling department addressed the Class of 2014 and their parents and explained how the evening would unfold. Students were reminded of the importance of making a first impression. The event began at 7:00 p.m. and ran until 8:30 p.m.
