Poker Tournament Update
Posted March 4th, 2014
There’s still room to play in the 1st Annual Fr. Reilly Poker Invitational on Sunday, March 16, at 1:00 p.m. at the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. A few questions have come up from those a little hesitant to participate.
First – All skill levels are welcome to join in the fun. “You do not have to be a professional card shark or know how to play different variations of poker,” said Fr. Reilly. “And although we’ll be in the Tropicana’s poker room, the atmosphere will be very relaxed and fun. I understand there will even be dealers to help as we play.”
Second – While there are many ways to play poker, the Fr. Reilly Invitational will feature the Texas Hold‘em format. This has become popular on shows such as The World Series of Poker on ESPN and Celebrity Poker Showdown on Bravo. The rules of Texas Hold’em can be found on Google, but here are two of our favorite links: here and here.
Third – The $200 buy-in is to play and for food and drink.
Fourth – If you have friends and family who are not playing, they can come and watch the action in the poker room (although they should really play!).
Registration will begin at 11:00 a.m. Online registration for this event is closed; you may enter the day of the event at the Tropicana. For more information, please contact (609) 501-3212. All proceeds will benefit the Presidential Grant Fund which supports Prep families with tuition assistance.
