Prep Board Member and Alumni Parent Receives Honorary Diploma

Posted June 6th, 2015

Mark D’Onofrio, Prep Board Member and 2003 Alumni parent, was recognized during the Class of 2015 Graduation Ceremonies with an honorary diploma. Mark’s relationship with our school goes back 35 years ago, where he has truly made a difference in the school community.

Mark was the 2007 recipient of the Gregor Mendel Medal, the most prestigious distinction bestowed upon a member of the Prep Community in recognition of one’s achievements and philanthropic efforts. In 2012, he was honored by Pope Benedict XVI for his dedication and service to the Church of Camden with the title Knight of the Order of St. Gregory-the highest honor a layman can receive from the Catholic Church.

Active in many local and Catholic organizations, Mark is the Chair of the St. Mary’s School Board, past Chair of the Cumberland County College Foundation, and numerous Diocesan Advisory Committees. He also serves as Vice Chair of our Board of Directors and as the Chair of the Board’s Facilities and Technology Committee where he has been instrumental in securing the school’s expansion. His influence and engineering expertise have resulted in state of the art facilities for our learning community.

Mark truly embodies the Augustinian values of someone who “sets hearts on fire each day with a passionate search for truth, unity, and love.”
