Prep Director Honored by Pope
Mr. Mark D’Onofrio, a member of the St. Augustine Prep Board of Directors, was recently honored by Pope Benedict XVI in recognition of his outstanding service to the Church. The title of Knight of the Order of St. Gregory will be conferred upon Mr. D’Onfrio by Bishop Joseph Gallante, Bishop of Camden, in a prayer service to be held on November 4 at St. Agnes Church in Blackwood.
Mr. D’Onofrio is being honored for his dedication and service to the Church of Camden. In addition to his work on the Prep’s Board of Directors, where he serves as the chair of the Facilities Committee, Mark has served as president of the Diocesan Schools Board and presently serves on the Diocesan Building Commission. He is also very active on the school board of St. Mary’s School in East Vineland, and he was one of the founding members of the parish council of Our Lady of Pompeii Parish.
Mark and his wife, Sandy, have been married 36 years and have three children and two grandchildren. Mr. D’Onofrio is the secretary/treasurer of Stanker & Galetto, Inc. In 2007, the Prep conferred upon him the Gregor Mendel Award to honor his outstanding contributions to South Jersey.
