Prep President Announces Pursuit of Dual Accreditation

Posted September 18th, 2012

On Monday, September 17, St. Augustine Prep President, Fr. Donald Reilly, O.S.A., gathered the faculty, staff, and administration in the Consalo Dining Hall and introduced the process by which St. Augustine Prep will pursue dual accreditation from the Middle States Association and the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (please click on the names the organizations to visit their respective websites). In October of 2013, representatives from both organizations will conduct a site visit at St. Augustine Prep and spend three and a half days assessing the institution on nine standards of accreditation. These standards include Mission/Philosophy, School and Community, Academic Programs, Counseling/Health, Technology, Governance, Finance, Personnel, and Safety/Equipment Services.

In addition to describing these standards, Fr. Reilly laid out a plan for preparedness towards this accreditation process. This plan includes the formations of committees, establishment of timelines for committee project deadlines, and an understanding of the benefits of receiving dual accreditation.
