Prep Students Attend Broadway Show
Posted October 19th, 2012
On October 10, eighty-four students in Mrs. Vermeeren’s French classes and the World Literature classes of Ms. Sama and Mr. Pine traveled with their teachers to New York City to see the Broadway production of Edmond Rostands’ Cyrano de Bergerac at the American Airlines Theatre. The language students had read the play in the original French, and the literature students had studied the work as an example of nineteenth century French drama which is still of interest today.
Several parents accompanied the students as additional chaperones. Mrs. Vermeeren’s students enjoyed an added cultural experience of having lunch at a French restaurant in the city. All students benefited from the group price of $26 per ticket for orchestra seats that sell for $165 apiece.
