Prep to Unveil Electric Car Charging Station December 7

Posted November 16th, 2012

St. Augustine Prep is poised to become to first high school on the East Coast to install an electric car charging station on its campus. The station will be opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 7, 2012, at 1:00 p.m.

This initiative is the result of a Caritas project organized by St. Augustine Prep Seniors Velty Koons and Jared Walters. You can read more about this project here.

The installation of the electric car charging station will be one of three significant steps taken at St. Augustine Prep towards achieving the stewardship of the earth initiative. The other two projects include the single-stream recycling program created in partnership with Waste Management, and the installation of the solar energy panel fields behind the LaRosa Field and on the roofs of the Forum and Augustinian Hall. St. Augustine Prep prides itself on its commitment to limiting its environmental impact.
