Prep Wrestlers Win District 32 Championship

On February 19, the St. Augustine Wrestling Team captured the District 32 championship, resulting in seven Hermits advancing to the Region 8 finals.  All participating wresters contributed to the team title.  First place winners included:  Tom Gattinella (113), Mark Patterson (152), and Tyler Sentman (160).  Second place finishers were:  Ed Donahue (126) and Joe Esposito (132).  Third place qualifiers were:  Steve Bergamo (106) and James Bennett (170).

The top three finishers in each weight class advance to the Region 8 finals, which will be held on February 22, 24, and 25 at Egg Harbor Township High School.  The top wrestlers in each of the regional competitions will advance to the state tournament, to be held the first weekend of March.
