PSAT’s for Juniors – October 15

Posted September 20th, 2014

The PSAT will be administered to junior students on October 15.
During the school day on Wednesday, October 15, the PSAT will be administered to all junior students as part of the National Merit Scholarship Competition.  Students should prepare the night before by getting a good night’s rest.

Scholarships awarded through National Merit Scholarship Corporation. (NMSC) programs are regarded as some of the highest academic honors attainable by U.S. high school students. Last year NMSC awarded scholarships valued at nearly $49 million to over 9,800 qualified students. Although NMSC underwrites more than a quarter of the scholarships with its own funds, most awards are provided by independent sponsor organizations. For more information go to http://www.nationalmerit.org.

Practice combo prep test to be administered on October 25
Both the SAT and ACT are combined into one practice test; free.  Although testing time is a tad longer than the previous practice exam; participating junior students will benefit from being exposed to both types of tests.  On Saturday, October 25th, The Princeton Review will administer the free test and those who elect taking it will have a better understanding of which to officially sit for in December. On the evening of Wednesday, November 5th at 6:30pm both parents and students are encouraged to attend a Scores Back Session in the Study Commons to decipher the results.

Registration information will be provided shortly for those junior students interested.
