Rising Juniors Attend HOBY Leadership Seminar
Posted July 1st, 2015
Every spring, nearly 10,000 high school sophomores from across the country are chosen to represent their high schools in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) State Leadership Seminars. HOBY’s Leadership Seminar is designed to empower high school sophomores to recognize their leadership talents and apply them to become effective, ethical leaders in their home, school, and community. This year, Chase Knechtal and Billy Duke were selected to represent St. Augustine Prep at the three-day seminar held at Monmouth University in West Long Branch at the end of June.
The seminar gave both Chase and Billy the chance to meet state leaders and explore their own leadership skills while learning how to lead others while making a positive impact in our community.
For over 50 years, HOBY has been working towards inspiring youth to a life dedicated to leadership, service, and innovation through their core values of volunteerism, integrity, excellence, diversity, and community partnership.
