Robotics Club Builds Radios

Posted December 16th, 2014

The Robotics Club’s first project is the creation of  FM radios.  At a recent meeting earlier this month, the members were introduced to the basics of soldering along with its components like compactors and resistors. Using a soldering gun and solder, they soldered individual pieces onto a circuit board. They were also introduced to positive and negative charges in relation to the flow of energy. The turnout for the project (approximately 30 students) was phenomenal. Many of the members picked it up quickly, showing that robotics and programming is for anyone as long as you try and put effort forth. The project will take about four to five sessions to finish but already the robotics club is organizing its next project–LEGO Mindstorm Robots. These robots will not only be built by the members but programmed as well. This meeting was both informative and enjoyable for all the members and they are looking forward to future projects. The Robotics Club is led by Mr. Matthew Balestriere (President) and Mrs. Diana Bertonazzi (Moderator),
