Samuel DeMatte (’17) & Joshua Drexler (’17) received the prestigious recognition of The Press of Atlantic City Young Leaders Award. The Christian Gentlemen were two of 25 students awarded the annual honor. The Young Leaders award was created to recognize the area’s most civic-minded and accomplished high school seniors. Each spring, 25 students who excel in academics, extracurricular activities and community service are chosen out of the applicant pool.

Sam & Josh were honored at an awards breakfast and received a small scholarship for their accomplishments in and out of the classroom.

A panel of independent judges were selected to read through Young Leader nominations and determine which students best fit the qualifications. This year’s judges included: Michelle Carrera, Ed. D (CEO, Boys & Girls Club Atlantic City), Peter Mora, Ed. D (President, Atlantic Cape Community College), Rummy Pandit (Executive Director, Lloyd Levenson Institute of Gaming, Hospitality and Tourism, Stockton University) & Diane F. Wieland (Director, Cape May County Department of Tourism, Public Information & Division of Culture & Heritage).
