Samuel DeMatte ’17 Speaks to Peers About His Mission Trip to El Salvador
Posted November 6th, 2015
Mission trips are wonderful opportunities to do God’s work around the world. Samuel DeMatte recently spoke to his Prep brothers about his opportunity to help those less fortunate in El Salvador. To summarize his trip, Sam said “I travelled with Healing the Children, Greater Philadelphia/Delaware Chapter to San Salvador, El Salvador for a week long pediatric podiatry mission this past September. The organization has travelled to 97 counties and has helped over 250,000 kids since it was established in 1997. The team accomplished 47 surgeries and fitted over 200 children for orthotics in September, the most the group has ever accomplished on a single one week mission. With the help of the Rotarians of El Salvador and dedication of doctors and nurses from around the country the trip continues to be a yearly success that I was so fortunate to be apart of.”
