Hermits Contingent Returns from SAVI 2022
Accompanied by Fr. Tony Burrascano, O.S.A. and Mr. Sharp, an eager group of Hermits recently participated in SAVI (Student Augustinian Values Institute) at St. Rita of Cascia in Chicago, Illinois. SAVI is funded by the Order of St. Augustine, North American Provinces of the United States and Canada, and represents ten high schools staffed and founded by the Order. This program was born of the Augustinian Values Institute originally created for the benefit of teachers, staff, and administrators. The SAVI program is designed to help students gain a deeper understanding of the Augustinian Values they have been learning at their respective schools. During the 3-day experience, students conduct in-depth discussions with their peers from fellow Augustinian schools and learn how each institution shares these values within their respective communities. The Prep is proud of the bond of the Hermit Brotherhood but in this case, the SAVI team learned they are also part of the Augustinian family. Through SAVI, students from all ten Augustinian Schools within the Augustinian Secondary Education Association in North America are able to bond with other Augustinian students from across the continent.
