SAVI Trip

Posted October 9th, 2015

Over the course of four days students from ten Augustinian secondary schools, along with members of those schools’ faculty, staff and administration, gathered in King’s City, Ontario (just outside Toronto), for the 7th Annual SAVI (Student Augustinian Values Institute).

Students participated in small and large group activities, prayers, masses and a service trip assisting the homeless of Toronto. There were also opportunities for the students to hang out, compare notes about their schools and even play a few games of curling!

SAVI promotes a sense of unity and common purpose among the secondary schools through the sharing of resources, ideas, achievements and experiences proper to our Augustinian second school ministries. The gathering also:

  • Provides ideas and suggestions for effectively sustaining the Augustinian schools ministry
  • Encourages a networking of ideas about the Catholic and Augustinian nature of our school ministries
  • Provides training to students in leadership, core values, service, charisma and the style of Augustinian schools
  • Identifies the common characteristics of Augustinian secondary schools
  • Promotes consulting resources to assist individual schools in evaluating their Augustinian identity/mission.
