Spanish Club Raises Funds for Peruvian Day Care Center
The Spanish Club sells snacks in trailer B to support “Mi pequeño Belén” (My Little Bethlehem), a small day care center in Villa El Salvador, Lima, Peru. The member-donated snacks sell for one dollar each. Every one dollar snack turns itself into a meal for a poor child. The Club has sent enough to feed the 30 children who attend for one week from collection of the first week’s drive and hope to continue sending support weekly. Part of the Peru Third Semester Service Adventure includes volunteering in this day care center. Club Treasurer, Ed Peterson, stays in contact through the internet with the director, Zoila Lagos, who is most excited about meeting her benefactors in June!
