Posted May 2nd, 2013

This past weekend the track and field team competed at the Lion Invitational in Middletown, NJ. While the team had a successful day, placing 8th overall, one athlete had a particularly good day. Justyce Pollitt broke the school record in the long jump. He jumped a whopping 22′ 9.5”, taking first place overall. This jump shoots him up the leader boards to make him the 5th ranked long jumper in New Jersey. Justyce has been competing at a high level all season, but this jump is a testament to the hard work and determine he has exhibited all year. Justyce also placed 5th in the 200m.

Special congratulations to Michael Pallozzi for running the 400m hurdles in a personal best time of 58.43 seconds, placing third overall and also running the 110 hurdles in 15.21 seconds, which ranks him 7th in the state. Also, congratulations to Nick Scelso who took 4th overall in the javelin with a throw of 161’8”. That throw ranks him as the 4th best sophomore javelin thrower in New Jersey.
