St. Augustine Prep to Host #1 High School Football Team in America

Posted August 13th, 2013

On Monday, August 19, the St. Augustine Prep Hermits football team will host the Paramus Catholic Paladins of Paramus, New Jersey in their first scrimmage of the 2013 season. CalPreps.com recently ranked the Paladins the Number 1 high school football team in America in their Preseason Top 25 rankings (see here).

The Hermits are coming off of an 8-2 season in which they won the Cape-Atlantic League National Conference title by defeating the Cedar Creek Pirates in the final game of the season on Thanksgiving day. It will be an uphill battle for the Hermits on Monday, as they face a Paladin team that features eleven possible Division 1 football players. The team is led by Senior All-American, Jabrill Peppers, who is arguably the nation’s most talented high school football player.

Game time is 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, at LaRosa Field. Family and fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the Athletics Department is expecting a significant turnout for the event.

Go Hermits!
